An autumn of outstanding art

Another summer is over, but there is no need to feel blue in our beautiful town of Lugano because there is a lot to look forward to in the next few months!

As the days get cooler and shorter, there is nothing I love more than enjoying some live performances, whether is music, theatre or dance. “Lugano in Scena”, which will start on September 30th, offers a great mix of all three and I can’t wait to see some reat actors, musicians and dancers on stage.

Taking place mostly at the new LAC center for the arts, but also around smaller venues in town such as the Teatro Foce, Lugano In Scena promises to bring a little bit of everything on stage for our enjoyment. I’m particularly looking forward to see some of Shakespeare’s works, both comedies and tragedies. I’m sure “Macbeth” will be magnificent, although “As you like it” will definitely be a lighter performance to watch and enjoy.

Those who prefer music to theater will be happy to know that, especially in December, there will be plenty to see at the LAC: from Giovanni Allevi’s piano solo tour, through an Alice in Wonderland musical, to some great Christmas gospel, Lugano has it all.

And if ballet is your cup of tea, then the Ballet National de Marseille, coming to Lugano in February, will definitely be a delight.

There are just some examples – there is much more to Lugano In Scena than this! If you want to see a complete list of events and buy tickets you can visit: http://www.luganoinscena.ch/

Should you prefer photography to the performing arts, don’t despair! The 5th edition of LuganoPhotoDays is coming up from September 16th to the 25th: if you are a budding photographer and would like to meet local and international guests, this is the place for you! It could be not only a chance to see great photography, but also an amazing opportunity to network with like minded photo enthusiasts. For more information: http://www.luganophotodays.ch/en/
